FG promises succour to communities affected by flood Nov 3, 2012, 06:40
| | The Federal Government has pledged to provide all the necessary support and assistance to victims of the flood disaster that has ravaged several communities across the county.
Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo made this statement on Friday, November 2, in Buanchor community of Boki LGA of Cross River state, which was one of the communities affected by the flood disaster.
Arc Sambo who was at the community to commiserate with the people over the sad incidence assured them that government was doing everything possible to alleviate their sufferings. He stated that, in addition to the N400million Federal Government intervention fund to Cross Rivers state, it has also set up a committee to asses the extent of damage done to affected communities with a view to ensuring that all losses suffered are replaced.
The vice president had earlier went round the affected community to have a firsthand assessment of the damages caused by the flood in the community.
Arc Sambo was accompanied by Governor Liyel Imoke, Senate Leader Victor Ndoma Egba, the Ministers of Environment and Water Resources, and the Ministers of State Health and
Works.
