FEC holds special session for late Kaduna Gov, NSA, adjourns till Jan 9 Dec 20, 2012, 07:18
| | The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, December 19, held a special tribute session in honour of Kaduna State Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, former National Security Adviser, General Andrew Azazi and other victims of last Saturday’s helicopter crash in Bayelsa State.
President Goodluck Jonathan, who presided over the session described last Saturday as a black day for the country.
He described the late governor as a gentleman who believed in the unity of the country and whose politics went beyond religion and ethnicity.
Vice President Namadi Sambo and the ministers took their turns to eulogise the victims.
President Jonathan announced that he would be leading the Federal Government’s delegation to the burial of the Kaduna State Governor on Thursday.
A minute’s silence was observed in honour of the departed officials while two condolence registers were opened for sympathizers to sign. The President, Vice President and ministers took their turns to sign the condolence register.
President Jonathan later announced the adjournment of the FEC meeting till January 9, 2013.
