Obasanjo receives old and new NLNG CEOs Nov 26, 2004, 13:56
| | President Olusegun Obasanjo on 24 November reiterated the value of the oil and gas sector to the national economy.
Receiving the out-going Managing Director of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited (NLNG) Mr. Andrew Jamieson and his successor, Mr. Chris Haynes at the State House, Abuja the President described the sector as the “goose that lays the eggs” for the economy.
President Obasanjo recapped Government’s resolve to confront and combat the problems of the Niger Delta, and commended NLNG for providing jobs for the Bonny Island community that had witnessed fewer violent incidents over the years.
Mr. Jamieson thanked President Obasanjo for his support during his five and half years of service in Nigeria, noting that the NLNG has grown into a strong company.
