CONGRATULATIONS
I write to congratulate you on your exploits at the on-going 16th FIFA Under-20 football tournament in Canada, particularly your victory last night over your Zambian opponents.
The manner of the victory, scoring a goal first and scoring yet another goal after your opponents had levelled scores, is a display of the resilience and never-say-die spirit that my administration is trying to nurture in our collective aspiration to build a new Nigeria.
It is instructive that you did not allow the setback of the replied goal to dampen your spirit, as you rose to the challenge to earn the victory that has taken you to the quarter final stage of the competition.
We can all learn useful lessons from your determination and sportsmanship as we resolve to rise above our temporary difficulties to build a society of which we shall all be proud.
While I urge you to remain focussed on the task of emerging champions, I assure you that all Nigerians are rooting and praying for you.
I look forward to receiving the trophy from you at the end of the tournament.
