EFCC gets new acting chairman

President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua has approved the appointment of Mrs Farida Waziri as the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Mrs Waziri, who retired as an Assistant Inspector General of Police in 2000, replaces Mr Ibrahim Lamorde, an Assistant Commissioner, who has been acting in that capacity since January 13 when AIG Nuhu Ribadu proceeded on a regular course at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies in Jos.

The new acting chairman who will take over fully if the senate confirms her substantive appointment resumed at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on Thursday May 15.
