New boards for Legal Aid Council, Nigeria image project

President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua has approved the appointment of a Governing Board for the Nigerian Legal Aid Council.

The 16-member board is headed by Justice Oseni Oyewo and includes four representatives of the Nigerian Bar Association as also members.

Members of the board will be inaugurated in Abuja on Thursday February 26 by the Attorney General of the Federation.

Meanwhile, a 20-member committee on the re-branding of Nigeria has been constituted by the Federal Ministry of Information and Communications

According to the Information and Communications Minister, Professor Dora Akunyili, members of the committee are men and women of proven integrity.

She explained that the committee’s assignment would include designing a plan of action and developing different components of the campaign.

Professor Akunyili who will serve as the committee’s chairman said the committee will also proffer suggestions on the international and internal aspects of the re-branding campaign.

The committee will be inaugurated on March 6.
