New Adviser on Special Duties appointed

President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua has approved the appointment of Alhaji Sani Idris Begiwa as Special Adviser on Special Duties.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Olusegun Adeniyi, said the appointment, announced on Wednesday April 15, is with immediate effect.

Alhsji Sani Begiwa retired from the Federal Civil Service, having worked at the Ministry of Education.

He had variously served as Education Attaché in the Nigerian High Commission in London, Special Adviser to Federal Minister of Education, interim Administrator, National Primary Education Commission and Project Officer in the World Bank Education Project.

His appointment is expected to strengthen the Special Duties Unit of the Presidency.
