President Yar’Adua appoints Oronsaye as Head of Service

President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua has approved the appointment of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Steve Oronsaye, as the new Head of Service of the Federation.

Making the disclosure on Thursday, June 11 after the extra-ordinary Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja the Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity), Mr. Olusegun Adeniyi stated that Mr. Orosanye will succeed Ms Ama Inyingiala Pepple who is due for retirement having attained the mandatory retirement age of 60 on June 14, 2008.

An Accountant by profession Mr. Oronsaye was with Peat Marwick, Ani, Ogunde firm of chartered accountants from where he joined government as personal assistant to Chief Anthony Ani when he served as the Minister of Finance in General Sani Abacha’s administration.

He was later appointed Permanent Secretary at the State House in 1999 by President Olusegun Obasanjo a position he held until his appointment as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance.
