The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday April 8 filed 56 count charges of conspiracy against the former Health minister, Professor Adenike Grange and Minister of State for Health, Chief Gabriel Aduku.

Also charged at a Federal High Court in Abuja were the chairman Senate committee on health, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello and eight others.

The two former ministers appeared personally in court but Senator Obasanjo-Bello was absent.

It will be recalled that Professor Grange and Chief Aduku voluntarily resigned from the Federal Executive Council on March 28 2008 to concentrate on the charges levelled against them.

President Umar Musa Yar’Adua accepted their resignation and directed the Labour Minister, Dr Hassan Mohammed Lawan to oversee the activities of the Health ministry until further notice.
